Supervising certification of all operators

Describe the "other" responsibilities

Even if Norway is not a member of the European Union, Norway is comitted through the agreement on the European Free Trade Area (EFTA) to the european standards for organic agriculture and for processing, trading and import. The Norwegian Food Authority is the state authority for organic agricultural production. Debio has been appointed as a inspection and certification body in both areas. Debio also certifies farm land for the receipt of public economic support for organic farming. Debio certifies for the use of Debio's seal for organic products, "Ø-merket", and for the use of the combination of "Ø-merket / Demeter" for bio-dynamic products.
