Summary

Minimal weaning period (mother-milk-feeding) for lambs is 56 days. (KEZ Standards, Chapter rearing of livestock, 9.4)

Difference

KEZ Standards require a longer weaning period than EU Regulation 2092/91. According to Annex I/B 4 the minimum period during when a lamb must be fed with natural (mother) milk is only 45 days.

Justification

The standard-setting body could not give a justification.
