Summary
Transport should be done carefully and with respect: stress, fear and pain shall be avoided as much as possible. IFOAM generally limits the transport period to a maximum of 8 hours.
Difference
The EU Regulation 2092/91 has only general rules for the transport of organically raised animals: The transport has to be done in a gentle manner and prevent any unnecessary stress. There is no maximum transport time given.
Justification
Stress to animals must be minimised.
